Life cycle of oil palm
For what you know everything in nature will have a cycle so as well as
for oil palm too. Normally you can see it in some nursery in Malaysia that is
private or non-private, they will grow it from loose fruits and put it in black
plastic and wait it grow and grow.. In my estate, we usually bought it from
Risda that is near from us so it’s easily to get it without travel far far
away, by the way we can save transport fees because we using our tractor to
make it here..
Actually when you guys buy oil palm, you guys should find a trusted
dealer to make sure that all your seedling is female and not male. Is it funny?
Yea I think so because at first I also very shocked that oil palm trees also
got sex and what I know is that the male oil palm will never bear fruit to you
that mean you can’t have your FFB from your trees and you may facing problem
when you get your oil palm seed is male so must be careful^^
From seedling to mature oil palm
is takes very long time, so the normally the estate holder will end their life
at below 30 years. Because as you see, once the tree get older their height
will increase and they will keep growing but our workers is very difficult to
yield the FFB from high trees. Even human sight also got limitation and they
may yield the unripe FFB and this kind of situation only will make decrease our
income so in order to solve it we need to replant the trees as I mentioned it
earlier.
